Twenty-one girls ages 4-18
filled the stage at Lake Ste-
vens High School on Saturday,
March 26, each hoping for a
place on the Aquafest 2016
Royalty.
Candidates for the coveted
prize not only had to show
their poise and charisma on
stage in both formal wear and
casual wear, but they also had
to go through interviews with
four different adult judges.
Other aspects of the annual
Miss Aquafest Pageant include
community service, most pho-
togenic, sparkling personality
and introduction.
This year’s pageant was host-
ed by Mistress of Ceremonies
Janice Huxford who got to not
only introduce each candidate
but also announce the names
of those who won.
The winners and ambassa-
dors (runner-up) in each age
category are as follows:
Princess (ages 5-6): Queen
Kaylyn Rickard and Ambassa-

win the Grand Prize of a visit

$10 donation in support of
the Lake Stevens Boys & Girls
Club. Every donation gives a
fan the chance to win a visit to
the set plus the opportunity to
become an honorary Guardian

struction of a brand-new Teen
Center at Lake Stevens Boys

provide a safe place for teens to
build relationships with men-
tors, get help with homework,
develop professional skills and
be with friends in a welcoming
environment.
“We’re so thankful for the

Omaze team as we work to-
wards our goal of building a
Teen Center,” said Lake Stevens
Boys and Girls Club Director
