Coming to Snohomish County in pioneer times, Charles Addison Cleveland
has wisely improved his opportunities. Never fearing that laborious effort
that must precede ascendancy.
He was born in Coos County, New Hampshire in 1867 and is the son of
William Howard and Ellen (Darling ) Cleveland.
His parents settled in Snohomish Washington in 1909 and his Father has
reached the age of Ninety Two Years. While his Mother is Seventy Three
years of age.
Charles A. Cleveland received a public school education and remained in
the east until he was eighteen years of age. He came to the Pacific NW in
1885. He worked at the Blackman Mill in Snohomish and in the lumber
camps. He also worked in the mining industry in the Monte Cristo area
When he attained sufficient capital he entered into the hotel business. Mr.
Cleveland is an astute business man and gives his allegiance to the
Democratic Party. Mr. Cleveland is identified with the Modern Woodmen
of America.
In 1890 he was appointed marshal of Snohomish County and in 1892 was
made deputy sheriff. ‘
