David Francis Walker, a resi-
dent of Shelton for 65 years, died
of cancer at his home Sunday,
September 14. He was 81‘
. He was born April 22, 1916, in
Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Pearl W.
and Ethel M. (Hollenbeck) Walk»

He attended Irene Sr Reed
High School in Shelton.
Mr. Walker married Peggy
Miller in 1941 in Shelton. She
preceded him in death in April
1993. ‘
Early in his life, he worked as
a carpenter and logger. He
worked in the shipyards during
World War II. He owned and op-
erated Walker General Trucking
and Bayshore Building and Fuel,
He also sold life insurance.
Mr. Walker was a member of
Yester Year Car Club, the Nim-
rod Club and numerous other
clubs in the Shelton area
He enjoyed collecting and re—
storing antique carsl He was also
a rockhound and mined for gold
in Oregon and California.
Mr. Walker is survived by
daughters Nancy G, of Shelton,
and Susan M. Rozell of Juneau,
Alaska; son Richard Walker of
Tillicum; sister Josephine Burell
of Bellewe; seven grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is his compan»
ion, Joyce Fields of Lilliwaup.
Interment will be at 3
p.m.Thursday, September 18, at
Shelton Memorial Park.
