Adam LeClair
Longtime Mason County resi-
dent Adam LeClair died on June
10, at his home on the Skokomish
Indian Reservation. He was 87.
He was born on April 1, 1921
in Yakima to John and Isabelle
(Symington) LeClair. His fam»
ily moved to the Skokomish area
when he was a young boy.
He served in the Army and
fought in all of the mm‘or cam-
paigns in Europe during World
War III He served along with his
brothers and many friends from
the Skokomish area.
Afier his tour of duty with the
Army, Mr. LeClair became a log—
ger and worked at Simpson Tim—
ber Companfs Camp Govey for 38
years. He became known as “Hard
Adam” for his work ethic in the
woods.
He was a hard worker and is re-
membered by generations of men
who worked with and for him. In
the grand days of logging, many
would give it a try but not all men
were suited for the difficult and
dangerous work
The old loggers looked out for
each other and shared their knowl-
edge of the woods with all who
worked on their crews. His family
said Mr. LeClair loved logging and
the men who worked with him for
the laughter they shared and the
principle he taught: Go ahead and
have as much fun as you want,
just be sure you are at work in the
morning.
II: married Ada LeClair-HyasA
man of the Quinault and Skokom-
ish tribes. They created a home
that was welcoming to the many
people who knew their family.
They shared food, laughter and
kindness with those they knew
and loved.
The LeClairs taught their chil-
dren the values that were evident
to anyone who knew them and
who were honored to share in the
Sunday dinners the family ar-
ranged during Mr. LeClaii’s final
days.
Surviving are his children Rhea
Dominguez, Patrick and Lametta
LeClair, Patty and Larry McFar-
lane, Donna LeClair, Corrina
Sohm, Darryl LeClair and Tim
“Wiggs” and Julie LeClair.
Also surviving are grandchil.

“Pacer” Peterson, Patrick “Moosie”
LeCleir, Dale “Redbaw LeClair,
Angel Marie King George, Jean
and Shawndra Henry, Joseph and
Jason Longshore, Laila Mendoza,

Mowich, Maria, Cheyenne, Ada,
Taylor and Isabelle LeClair and
Winter Strong.
Other survivors include Duane
and Shirley Ward as Well as nu-
merous great-grandchildren, niec-
es, nephews and the Cowlitz com-
munity where Mr. LeClair was a
tribal member.
He was preceded in death by
his wife and sons Glenn and Dale
LeClair.
