Lake Stevens Visitor Informa-
tion Center last fall was life
changing for new City Admin-
istrator Gene Brazel. After 31
years at the City of Monroe,
Brazel decided he wanted to
make the move to Lake Ste-
vens.
“I was motivated by Mayor
Spencer’s vision and energized
by his speech,” Brazel said.
Brazel started at Monroe as
a seasonal worker and moved
his way through the ranks in
many of the city’s departments
including Public Works, waste
water and others, eventually
becoming the City Adminis-
trator for the city of 18,000.
“I loved my job there but am
excited to see what I can do
here in Lake Stevens,” he said.
Big things are happening in
Lake Stevens making it an ex-
citing time to join the city staff.
With the downtown sub area
planning as well as Frontier
Village and South Lake area,
the future look of Lake Stevens
could change drastically in the
future.
“The amount of projects has
been a surprise but everyone is
motivated for change,” he said
