He was born August 1, 1938 in Shelton to Woodrow and Dorothy (Krise) Johnson. He married Sharon Buckles on September 5, 1975. Mr. Johnson served in the US. Air Force from 1955 to 1958‘ He was a member of the Squaxin ls- land Indian Tribe and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter—day Saints Family members said he maintained, “When I get to heav- en I want to find out if my grand— ma made good cookies!" He worked as a commercial fisherman, He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his sister, Edith Clark He is survived by his wife, Sharon Johnson of Shelton; daughter Traci Van Mechelen of Olympia; stepson Jeffrey Hiebert of Yakima; brothers Bruce John- son of Shelton and Bryan John, son of Lake Havasu, Arizona; brother—in-law Buck Clark of Shelton; grandchildren Melissa and Sara Van Mechelen; and step-grandchildren Jered and Anissia Hiebert. A memorial service was held Tuesday, July 2’1, at the Squaxin Island Tribal Centerr Memorial donations may be made to Providence SoundHome Care and Hospice, 404 Lilly Road NE, Olympia, 93501.
