F. s.) The Museum has a Hartford and Eastern rail schedule from 1933 (see right) that included Waldheim as one of the stops, noting parenthetically that it was a Forest Service location. With additional data between those dates, we proved that the name Waldheim was used to identify that rail stop for several decades, and later information confirmed that the County School Camp opened there in 1948 was officially named the Silverton- Waldheim Camp. But we don't know exactly who chose the name and when it was chosen. Any readers with clues are encouraged to contact the Museum. It is interesting to note, however, that near the more-famous Silverton, Colorado, the wife of a rich mining magnate named their home "Waldheim", or "forest home", some years before Silverton, WA existed.
