Eight BHS students
chosen to play in
All-State Orchestra
Eight Burroughs High School &tudents
have been selected to play in the California
Orchestra Directors Association All-State
Honor Orchestra. This is the fifth year that
Burroughs High School has been so honored.
The local instrumentalists will join
students from high schools throughout the
state in a tw-2271.
Reservations for the PWOC Christmas
luncheon are due no later than Sunday, Nov.
29. They can be made by ca\ting Eleanor

ext. 2873. Cost of the luncheon is $2.50 per

Roundup
A bicycle hill climb, sponsored by the Intramural Sports Program at Cerro Coso
Community College, will be held on Sunday. Registration for this event, which l.I open to
the public, starts at 8:30 a.m., and the race will begin at 9o'clock.
Bicycle riders are to meet at the intersection of College Heights and South China Lake
BouIevarda for a group start that will get this event underway. It is recommended that
all participants wear protective hebnets.
There is an entry fee of 75 cents per person for the bicycle hill climb, and prizes will be
awarded to winners in hoth men's and women's division. Additional information can be
obtained by calling the college's intramural sports coordinator, phone 37:;-SOO1.

Another of the monthly Membership Night fetes will be held tomorrow evening from
6:30to midnightatthe Commissioned Officers' Mess.
COM members and their guests who already have made reservations for this event
will enjoy a buffet dinner, followed by dancing and listening to the music of the
Marauders, a Los Angeles-baaed instrumental group.

open house tomorrow at the old Kern County Building, 250 W. Ridgecrest Blvd. in
Ridgecrest, from 9a.m. to 3p.m.
All teacbers, parents, and friends of young children are welcome to attend. Films will

music group from Los Angeles, will be performing for the listening and dancing eo-

ribs of beef or Icelandic cod to those having dinner in the CPO Club dining room.

Models from the Classy Closet and Western Emporium, clothing stores in Ridgecrest,
will be presenting a Xmas preview of fashions to those men in attendance who need help
in selecting gifts for loved ones in their lives.
Admission to this unique fashion show is free.
