This lovely house was not so much "built" as "evolved". It has had six
additions or renovations— five of them before 1926! The most
current work was done by its current owners, Gordon and Christie
Martine. To recreate the exterior materials, the Marline's used 100
year old redwood, reclaimed from local demolitions. The front and
back doors are genuine 1880's pieces, found in Santa Cruz and
Berkeley. All the hardware is from the original house. Most of their
lighting fixtures are renovated pieces dating to the 1890's. This
beautiful home is furnished mainly with Eastlake style pieces, and
the late-40's OKeefe and Merritt range is in full working order!
