PO Box 1007

Dear ?
I don't know whom to address this note--but perhaps you
will hand it on to the proper person, if it is not you who opens tlis.
My daughter purchased her home several years ago and is
getting quite house-proud for its age among other things--and I
thought it might be nice to writer her a little history of her house
and perhaps obtain one of those interesting plaques which appear on
other old houses in our town which I notice as I pass them when out
walking. How does one go about obtaining one of those plaques which
indicate the first owner of the house and the year in which it was
built?
It seemed logical to ask your society. If anyone wbuld know
you would, I'd think.
It is possible that she was contacted at the time she pur-
chased the house--for I remember her saying something about the fact
that if she had one it would mean that her house would automatically
be placed on the list that had Good Old Days Victorian House viewerw
okayed for going through it--and being a working girl she didn't think
she could manage that. But she is very proud of the age of her house
and I think that if I had one of those plaques to give her---and some
information written into a little booklet, which I would be able to do
if I knew the name of the owner and the year it was built .... oh, my
goodness, what a sentence! I think you will get my meaning, however
and typing is so difficult now that my fingers are 72 years old:
Please forgive rambling...and mistakes in typing. Better than if I
tried to write with a pen, I assure you.
I have taken enough of your time--but ask an answer from
somebody on how I would go about getting a plague and any possible
information from which to write a little booklet for my daughter.
Her name is Kathleen L King
and she lives at 315 Ninth Street
Pacific Grove, Calif.
I hope you can help me. Thahks very much.
