Our lecture series began with presentations in November and December. Thanks Bob Smith for heading up this project. Exhibit in- stallation is now occurring at the new location. Thanks Scott Millett, Bob Smith, Art Hickle, Charlie May, Joe Seybold, Gunnars Svika and Bob Campbell. Bob Campbell and helpers have been cleaning out Sea Contain- ers and other storage areas. Julie Stay- ton has been collecting sturdy boxes. Megan Rawson made sure that we were listed in the Open House events which lead to a banner day in the mu- seum and gift shop. A crew cleaned up all of the new gift shop fixtures in preparation for moving. Thanks Nancy Kiren, Careen Rose, Bob Gould, Wayne Doucette and others. We had a great turnout of over 40 people at the December 13th Volun- teer Luncheon. We have complet- ed a MOU with the base that allows us to move artifacts to our new loca- tion which is a significant develop- ment. Finalizing procedures and forms is now occurring. Thanks Bob Campbell, Bob Smith, and Susie Raglin and her great team for making this happen. If I left you off this list please know that we do value your time! OrbitalATK recently presented the China Lake Museum an original oil painting by Larry Zabel. The painting is an F/A-18 launching an AARGM, a missile that Or- bitalATK was instru- mental in develop- ing here at China Lake. This was one of Lar- ry's last paintings, and has not been named. It will hang in a place of hon- or in the new museum. The Founda- tion will run a contest during the up- coming Annual Dinner Auction to name this beautiful painting We could use helpers for weekend exhibit projects. The next month will also be busy as we finish construction and start moving items over to the new location. We could use more volunteers in February for packing, unpacking, setting up the gift shop, cleaning and doing minor trim repairs to the new auxiliary building. We will need a good spiffing up the place before the grand opening and other special events. The Board of Directors are doing a great job but they are tired and need help.
