Norman E Lange died at his
home in Amboy on January 9. He
was 66‘
He was born in Wenotchee on
February 14, 1927‘ He grew up in
Union and graduated from Shelton
High School. He played the role of
Paul Bunyan in the annual Forest
Festival Parade. He served in the
US. Coast Guard during World
War IL
Mr. Lange earned an engineer-
ing degree from the University of
Washington and worked as a road
builderf‘or most ofhislife. He was a
partner in Wisner and Lange
Roadbuilders and also operated on
his own for many years.
He was a member of the North
Clark Lions, 8 board member of
North Country Emergency Medi-
cal Services, a board member ofthe
North Clark Historical Museum, a
former director of the Battle
GroundSchool Districtandamem-
ber of Ducks Unlimited, D&D
Duck Club of Woodland and Ska-
mania Fly Fishermen. He enjoyed
reading, stamp collecting and duck
hunting
Mr. Lange moved to the Amboy
area in 1958 and was married in
1981, He supported schools, spon-
sored little league teams and con-
structed tennis courts and trails at
Amboy School. He loved the out-
doors, kittens and his dog, Brandy,
Survivors include his wife,
Glynne Lee Lange of Amboy; his
daughters, Barbara Kay Barker
and Karen Ellen Lange of Van-
couver; a son, Eric Edward Lange
of" Bozeman, Montana; his step-
sons, Michael Ray Nichols of Ca-
thedral City, California, and Fred
Nichols of Yakima; a stepdaugh~
ter, Danna Lynn Neil of Citrus
Heights, California;two grandchil-
dren and 11 stepagrandchildren.
Pastor Rodney Ellertson offi-
ciated at memorial services held
January 14 at Memorial Gardens
Funeral Chapel in Vancouver.
