Bible records
Last month was the introduction of bible records to the Mason Log. I plan to continue this, as I find or
receive bible records to include. Several members thought they might want to contribute and I’ll contact
them in the future. This week’s Log will feature a bible record found in the New Testament of Caroline
Udall. She was the great grandmother of Charles Wright, Chief Justice of the Washington State Supreme
Court, 1971 to 1980. The bible is in the Charles Wright collection at the Mason County Historical Society
Museum in Shelton, Washington. Caroline’s maiden name was Hoyt. The record page is missing but
stuck in the middle of the bible was a sheet of paper that listed Caroline’s parents and siblings and their
date of births, her parents and a sister’s date of death, the author of the piece is unknown. There is
information contained on both sides of the sheet.
