Calem LaCombe
Calem M. LaCombe, age 73,
died Sunday, January 14, of nat-
ural causes in his home of 15
years in Tahuya. He was born on
September 15, 1922 to Peter and
Mae LaCombe in Newcastle.
Mr. LaCombe attended college
for two years, enjoyed writing po-
etry, and was a member of the
Masonic lodge. He served in the
United States Navy for 32 years,
retiring as a chief warrant officer.
He was a survivor of the attack
on Pearl Harbor. He had also

Savannah, Georgia.
He is survived by his daugh-
ters, Margeurite Wendt of Mis—
souri City, Texas, Helen Hemdon,
Jenny LaCombe Keester and
Catherine LaCombe of Savannah,
Georgia; his son, Calem LaCombe
Jr: of Wilton Manors, Florida; his
sister, Helen Morgan of Vancou-
ver, British Columbia; and four
grandchildren, Cynthia Mabrey of
Missouri City, Texas, Christine
LaCombe of Tulsa, Oklahoma,
Calem LaCombe III of Wilton
Manor, Florida, and Lance La-
Combe of Savannah, Georgia.
Internment will be in South
Carolina. Arrangements were
handled by the McComb Funeral
Home in Shelton.
