RE: 850 Maple Street
This has been a nifty adventure! Thank you for all the information you sent. Decided to
respond to you in chron order - and leave it up to you to put things in an order that makes
sense to you.
In a nutshell, it appears that your house was built at 622 Carmel Avenue in 1903,
remodeled in 1930, then moved to 850 Maple Street and remodeled by owner A. F.
Bullene in 1936. A new house was built at the 622 Carmel site in 1941, and the address
was changed to 442 Gibson Avenue.
Enclosed information for you:
• 1928. Land and Building Valuations. 850 Maple is Block 339, Lot C. The Building
Classification and Computation Record indicates that there were no buildings on the
lot at that time.
• 1928. Building Classification and Computation Record for 622 Carmel Avenue
showing the footprint of the house and indicating that the house was 25 years old at
that time.
• 1930. Building permit for two additions to 622 Carmel Avenue. (Carmel and
Gibson.)
• 1930. Del Monte Properties map showing the names Gould and Bullene on the 339
Block. (Wonder how Bullene got there as early as 1930?)
• 1936. Building permit for "alteration to residence moved from Carmel and
Gibson". A. F. Bullene, owner.
• 1936. 850 Maple Street building permit for "old house to be moved onto property
with new addition". A. F. Bullene, property owner.
• 1950. Old CDD assessor parcel number file by owner name for Block 339, Lot 3.
(This is much like the information you got from the County Recorder.)
I wanted to get this off to you before too much time goes by. If I find more information,
I'll give you a call.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Work number at the CDD for Tuesdays
and Wednesdays is ; home number is 647-8363.
